Paintings inspired by the blooms of nature that sprang up in urban areas and all around during lockdown

All the works on this collection have been created or reworked during and intense working period over the lockdown here in Serbia.  They were inspired by the wild nature which appeared in cities all over the world as humans were forced to stay at home.

I chose a poem by the Sufi poet Rumi to express in words my feelings about nature and our connection to it.

“I am so close, I may look distant.
So completely mixed with you, I may look separate.
So out in the open, I appear hidden.
So silent, because I am constantly talking with you.”

This voice, this deep and intrinsic connection that we have to the natural world is subtle and powerful, I believe that we are suffering as we to harm to the planet and to each other.  My work has always been about expressions of wilderness within and without, these works are a very direct response to the voice of nature - The call of the Wild.
